VA Covid Vaccination Program

Recently I got my first vaccination at the Rochester VA clinic. I was surprised to get the appointment as quickly as I did. I had asked to be put on the list only a week before being notified that a date was set for the following weekend. Apparently, the VA had gotten a large shipment and wanted to get the vaccines to the many veterans who live in the Rochester, NY area as soon as possible.

I am scheduled for the second shot on the first Saturday in April.

The new facility on Calkins Road in Rochester has been a great addition to the services offered to the local veteran population. It is estimated that approximately 34,000 veterans live in Monroe County alone and the majority of those veterans served in the Viet-Nam era.
